DETAILS

Area of application

WATSOL is a bi-component, epoxy filmogenic floor and wall paint for protecting and embellishing floors, wall bottoms and walls subjected to high abrasion and chemical aggression. Highly resistant, it is perfectly suited for various types of application:

  • Collective-use buildings, offices, hospitals, laboratories, restaurants
  • Industrial: parking areas, hangars, depots, food industry, cold rooms, factory-workshops
  • Private: loft, kitchen, bathroom, garage, cellar, staircase
  • Typical water basin and pool (see WATSOL SWIM technical sheet)

For any other area of application: ask Cimentol Paints for advice on info@cimentol.fr

Procedure

1. Preparation of the background

Application on good quality, dust-free, degreased coherent floors (preparation in accordance with DTU 59.3) (See the substrate preparation table in our FLOOR SYSTEM file). On excessively porous substrates, you should plan to prime with a coat of WATSOL diluted to a max. 5% with water. On excessively smooth substrates, use our universal primer WATPRIM; Ask us.

On poorly defines substrates and that do not correspond to the substrate preparation table, it is recommended to test a few dozen square metres beforehand to test the covering.

2. Preparation of WATSOL

Mix the two components well using a spatula for small packages, and an electric shaker on low speed for 20KG. Any dilution as a first coat must remain less than 5% with water. Beyond that, the performance and aspect of the product will be degraded. Once mixed, the quantity prepared must be used within the hour. Beyond that, with or without overdilution with water, the mixture will no longer have the desired characteristics.

3. Application

  • Time between two coats: between 24 and 48 hours. A third coat may be applied for floors subjected to intense traffic.
  • Anti-skid finish: To reinforce the anti-skid nature of your floor, it is recommended to sprinkle a fine layer of our anti-skid silica (100 to 150 g/m2) at the desired locations immediately after applying the first coat that is still fresh. To do this, use shoes with nails specifically intended for this purpose. Sweep before applying the second coat.
  • Protective varnish finish: a protective WATCOAT varnish can also be applied in order to reinforce and decorate your floors.

Maintenance: Use WATWAX (see technical sheet), metallising wax for protecting and renovating your painted floors.

4. Recommendations for use

  • Check the durability of the substrate and conduct the preparation operations in accordance with the table in the FLOOR SYSTEM file.
  • Insert all the hardener into the base.
  • Comply with the technical data below concerning temperature, humidity, etc.
  • It is important to work with the final coat with the same manufacturing bath in order to avoid reworking and tolerances for lacquer tints and epoxy pigment.

Precautions for use

  • Safety/hygiene: solvent-free, non-flammable; keep out of the reach of children, avoid prolonged contact with the skin, wash hand frequently, do not ingest. For professional use only.
  • Apply the product in constantly well-ventilated premises in order to allow the water to evaporate and as such prevent saturation of the ambient air which can cause shading effects (matting of the film) during film formation.
  • If the temperature of the application substrate is too low, the film can have cracks.
  • Some low-opacifying special tints (such as yellow) may require application of a suitable undercoat (such as a grey or white). Ask us.
  • Comply with the instructions on the labels and safety sheets.

Application of this type of product falls under DTU 59.3. It is the responsibility of the applicator to ensure compliance with these rules, because they are engaging their liability.
