DETAILS
Area of application
WATHAN EXPRESS primer-finish is a two-component, high-solids, low-VOC, polyaspartic floor paint/resin. Used for the protection and embellishment of floors, lower walls and walls subject to high levels of abrasion and chemical aggression, and requiring very rapid return to service for traffic and premises.
WATHAN EXPRESS primer finish is for internal and external use.
Extremely resistant and flexible, it is ideal for a wide range of applications:
• Public buildings, offices, hospitals, laboratories, restaurants, factories, warehouses, etc.
• Balconies, walkways
• Exterior: walkways, external stairs
• Industrial: car parks, sheds, warehouses, food industry, cold rooms, factory/workshop
• Private homes: lofts, kitchens, bathrooms, garages, cellars, staircases
WATHAN EXPRESS primer finish is ideal for use on concrete and cement.
On tiled substrates and ferrous or non-ferrous metals, it is essential to use WATPRIM primer.
On smooth, slightly absorbent surfaces or residual humidity without osmotic pressure, use WATPRIM primer.
On floors with osmotic pressure below 1 bar, use WATPRIM AH vapour barrier primer.
On shot-blasted or diamond-wheel sanded substrates, depending on the condition of the surface to be made good, use WATPRIM T0/800
levelling binder

Procedure
- Surface preparation
Application on sound quality, dust-free, degreased, even, roughened floors and walls.
(See table of substrate preparation in our SYSTEM FLOOR file).
Check that the substrate complies with DTU 59.3 and 54.1 before any application. - Preparation of WATHAN EXPRESS primer finish
Mix the two components well, using a spatula for 1 kg containers and a low-speed electric stirrer for 5 and 15 kg containers. To ensure that the product is thoroughly mixed (on the edges and at the bottom), pour the preparation into a clean, empty container.
At 20°C, the prepared quantity must be used within 30 minutes of mixing and immediately spread out in small quantities. - Application
• Roller, two coats
•Non-slip finish: To improve the anti-slip properties of your floor, we recommend sprinkling a thin layer of our anti-slip silica (250 to 300 g/m2) in the required areas just after the first coat has been applied, while it is still fresh. To do so, wear specially designed studded shoes. Sweep/vacuum before applying the second coat. - Recommendations for use
•Check that the surface is in sound condition and carry out the preparatory works in accordance with the table in the FLOOR SYSTEM file.
•Pour all the hardener into the base.
•Respect the technical data below for ventilation, temperature, humidity, etc.
•Do not dilute (water or solvent)
•The proportion of colourant must not exceed 9% of the total product. Above this level, the product loses its mechanical properties (consult us).
•On porous surfaces, it is essential to seal the base to prevent bubbling.
•To ensure that the product is thoroughly mixed, pour the entire mixture into another container so that the poorly mixed parts (bottom and sides of the bucket) are not applied to the floor.
•Do not divide the containers.
•Do not apply in rain, fog, or high humidity. This would mean a much longer drying time.
•To promote adhesion between coats, please respect the re-application time. Note that this time may be shortened in high temperatures or if the colour is dark.
Precautions for use
- Safety/hygiene: non-flammable; keep out of the reach of children, avoid prolonged contact with the skin, wash hand frequently, do not ingest.
- Apply the product in constantly well-ventilated premises with no humidity
- Comply with the instructions on the labels and safety sheets
- Must be tinted only with solvent colouring agents. The amount of colouring agent as a neutral base must not exceed 9% of the total product.
Application of this type of product falls under DTU 59.3. It is the responsibility of the applicator to ensure compliance with these rules, because they are engaging their liability.
